Spasms and Soreness
There are situations when a blood clot can form in one of the veins of the kidney. Whereas typical kidney pain can result in a dull, constant ache, renal vein thrombosis could result in more severe pain that does not let up and radiates from the back. If the blood clot forms in a vein of the left kidney, you will most likely feel the pain radiating from the left side of the body. Aside from the constant pain, you might also feel muscle spasms around the area, which can be challenging to manage.
It can also result in most of the area along the rib cage and the back feeling tender and sore to the touch. It’s a symptom of left kidney pain that can be stressful to manage, especially if you’re trying to get some sleep. Spasms from renal vein thrombosis can be challenging, but depending on the size of the blood clot, it may go away on its own. If the blood clot is small, the doctor will likely recommend rest until the symptoms disappear.
