Natural supplements to improve insulin sensitivity are recommended to manage symptoms and prevent complications. Among all supplements, chromium, berberine, magnesium, and resveratrol have the most consistent data evidence for insulin resistance. Chromium is an essential mineral for carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. According to studies, ingesting 200 to 1,000 mcg of chromium picolinate supplements may boost insulin receptors’ capacity to lower blood sugar.
On the other hand, magnesium is a mineral that stores blood sugar by interacting with insulin receptors. Low magnesium levels in the blood have been associated with insulin resistance. Therefore, magnesium supplements may boost magnesium levels in the blood and enhance diabetes management and prevent prediabetes from advancing.

It activates sirtuin, which is targeted by acetylates and coactivates downstream, and impacts glucose and lipid metabolism, insulin production, and glucose absorption in voluntary muscle.
