12 Effective Tonsil Stones Home Remedies You Should Try

Lemongrass Oil

Lemongrass is a plant used to give aroma and flavor to dishes. When it is in the form of oil, it can be used as a treatment for various conditions. Its effectiveness lies within its antibacterial properties it has. It also contains yeast, which are forms of good bacteria. These properties are sufficient in combating and eliminating tonsil stones in the throat.

Lemongrass removes pain, reduces swelling, and fights back harmful bacteria. Its antibacterial properties prevent further buildup of microbes in the mouth. It does not give fuel for these microbes to multiply or spread. In comparison, its yeast content is important, especially in balancing the good and bad bacteria in the mouth. Although white blood cells are there to fight back these harmful bacteria, good bacteria like yeast helps neutralize harmful bacteria that attack the body.

To use lemongrass, dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil. Put at least 1 to 2 drops of diluted lemongrass on a toothbrush, then gently brush the teeth, gums, and tonsils. Avoid overapplying diluted lemongrass oil in the mouth, for it can sting and cause pain in the tonsil area.
