Freezing Kit
Freezing kits are marketed to remove skin tags by cutting them off at the root. The method is simple: you place an ice-filled ball over a tag for several seconds until it freezes, then rub the frozen ball against it until it falls off. The idea is that freezing will destroy any blood vessels to the tag so that removing it won’t result in bleeding. Theoretically, this would be effective because it would take away any blood supply to the tag and eventually cause it to fall off by itself.
Most cases of skin tags are harmless and do not present a health risk. However, if you have a skin tag that is growing and bleeding or is located in an area that comes in contact with clothing or jewelry (such as on the neck or eyelids), it may be wise to freeze it.
At-home freezing kits are an affordable and effective way to remove skin tags. These kits generally include a liquid that you apply to the tag, which causes it to freeze and fall off within a few days. The liquid can be applied using a cotton swab or a plastic applicator that is better for hard-to-reach areas. Freezing kits are easy to find online and at most drugstores.
