Skin Tag Creams
One of the easiest ways to remove skin tags is with a skin tag cream. Skin tag creams work by slowly drying out and killing the skin tag over about two weeks. They’re best for small labels less than 1/4 inch thick; larger ones require a physician’s prescription.
Skin tag creams are an effective, safe, and low-cost way to remove skin tags. In one study, researchers found that over ten days, a skin tag cream reduced the size and volume of skin tags by more than 50 percent in most patients. The study also found that anyone can use skin tag creams to remove multiple skin tags at once—and may even prevent new ones from forming.
The most common place to apply a skin tag cream is directly onto the tag itself; you’ll want to use it once daily and wash your hands after applying it. If you have sensitive skin or allergies, it’s best to look for a hypoallergenic skin tag cream with no strong fragrances or other ingredients.
Skin tag creams are available in most drug stores, and you can order some online. The availability of these creams depends on where you live and what kind of skin tags you have. If you don’t have access to a store that sells them, ask your doctor or pharmacist if they can order one.
