Apply Sandalwood Paste
Sandalwood has been used in traditional medicine to calm the nerves, lessen stress, relax the mind, and relieve anxiety. Because of its soothing effects, it has become a favorite ingredient among oils and perfumes. However, aside from soothing the mind, sandalwood also can fight inflammation and slow down skin aging.
Several animal studies have shown that sandalwood has impressive anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. For example, in 2017, a study on rats showed that sandalwood ointment and paste effectively soothed the pain and discomfort caused by heat rash. As a result, companies are now including sandalwood as an active ingredient in their creams and gels.
If over-the-counter sandalwood products are unavailable, a homemade paste will also work wonders in treating heat rash. To do this, mix sandalwood powder with warm water to form a paste. Then, use the mixture or paste on the infected areas and leave the paste for 5-10 minutes before washing it with soap and water.
