Peppermint Tea
As a mix between watermint and spearmint, peppermint is a healthy, aromatic herb and a part of the mint family of plants. As a native plant to various parts of Asia and Europe, peppermint has been used as a medicinal herb for thousands of years — as well as for its pleasant minty taste. Peppermint is a member of the flavone subtype, which is known to fight inflammation as well as act as a natural pesticide to protect from potentially harmful insects.
Peppermint extract can act as a muscle and pain reliever, which is why some people use it to help treat symptoms of headaches and migraines. It also has the capacity to relieve clogged sinuses, and can even freshen one’s breath — which is why peppermint is often a flavor used by various toothpaste brands. As stated above, peppermint tea has flavonoids known as flavones, which serve to help with inflammation and dealing with bacteria.
While there are also peppermint candies available, it’s best to stick to the herbal tea, which is often seen as a remedy for many health issues. Peppermint tea can soothe tired muscles, and help ease the symptoms of stress.
