12 Symptoms & Sign Of Bowel Obstruction (Don’t Ignore)

Rectal Bleeding

Different colors of stool or poop come out of the anus and are processed in the digestive system. It varies due to the food intake and the amount of bile that goes along with it; bile is the fluid that comes out of the liver when it digests fats. When defecating, the normal color of the stool would be brown. Green poop indicates that the person has been eating green vegetables, leaves, or food with green coloring. Yellow poop, on the other hand, if it smells terrible, indicates that there is too much fat content and the digestive system has not functioned correctly.

Black poop is caused by iron supplements or medicines containing bismuth subsalicylate, while poop with red and black pigments shows rectal bleeding. It can signify a temporary or serious condition (like colorectal cancer) depending on the severity and the amount of blood in the stool. Sometimes, stool contains microscopic blood (almost invisible to the naked eye) called occult bleeding. This shows that there may be bleeding inside the digestive tract, suggesting conditions like inflammation and blockage in the intestines, cancer, or other relative diseases.
